Our National Medicaid Financing Practice (NMF) works with clients such as states, counties, health systems, safety net hospitals, academic medical centers, physicians, nursing facilities and medical schools navigate the opportunities to strengthen their Medicaid business through the conception, creation and implementation of programs designed to increase Medicaid reimbursement and leverage their unique capacities to deliver on the quality and value propositions growing in Medicaid. About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Senior Consultant who will provide project management to support for a portfolio that involves financial and policy initiatives connected to supplemental payment projects contained within the National Medicaid Finance (NMF) portfolio, working on an initiative that benefits all Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). As the Senior Consultant for FQHC, you will help develop project plans, timelines, and strategies to move projects forward and work with a project team to implement these plans and track progress. You will participate in client meetings and coordinate with the project team to complete key deliverable tasks, project milestones and corresponding deadlines associated with client engagements. You will also utilize project management software (e.g., Asana) to maintain and update project plans including tasks, deliverables, resource assignments, milestones, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on project management, including scheduling, creating agendas, drafting necessary meeting materials, capturing salient points and next steps, distributing assignments to team members, tracking follow up items, and ensuring that deadlines and assignments are accomplished in a timely and complete manner.
- Provide project management support to internal initiatives to support knowledge management, training initiatives, recruiting and others as identified. Many of these are new initiatives that will require initial support to launch, including the identification of stakeholder needs and support processes.
- Develop and maintain a detailed, comprehensive project plan to monitor project milestones and deliverables. Manage strategic approach outlined by project team and ongoing implementation of projects.
- Writes various documents to contextualize technical information into understandable narratives.
- Anticipates, escalates, and proposes solutions for service, quality, or risk issues.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration. Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics, or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree).
- Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers required.
- 5-7 or more combined years in a policy or healthcare management role and/or in consulting, healthcare industry required.
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible work experience is required, preferably in health or human services policy research, consulting and/or in a healthcare service delivery environment, or in consulting or operational experience in health care and/or health policy research/analysis.
- Previous project/task management experience strongly desired; attention to detail, a must.
- Experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Medicaid preferred.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Share Point.
