Associate / Vice President Engineer – Investment Banking, Energy

Position Summary

Guggenheim Securities, the Investment Banking division of Guggenheim Partners, is seeking an Engineer to join our growing Houston Energy Investment Banking team. This role would be fully integrated into our technical and finance team.

Guggenheim Securities’ Energy Investment Banking group provides specialized financial advisory across multiple sub-sectors of Energy including energy transition, upstream, midstream and oil services. Lean deal teams provide exceptional experience and competitive deal flow for incoming candidates.

Essential Job Functions

• Individual will be joining a technical team of geologists and engineers who work on upstream, midstream, and sustainability M&A and financing transactions
• Role will be an active member of deal teams comprised of geologists, engineers, and finance professionals
• Individual will be expected to lead the engineering discipline on a given deal team
• Role will involve database management (ARIES, ComboCurve, etc.), PDP forecasting, development modeling, valuation analysis, well performance case study analysis, type curve construction, and building presentations
• Client facing position where the individual should be comfortable speaking in front of groups and have a strong ability to communicate technical views

Preferred Qualifications

• Looking for highly motivated and creative individual to work in a fast-paced environment within the Energy Investment Banking Group
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Effective process management abilities

Basic Qualifications

• +5 years of relevant experience with preference for some field and Investment Banking experience
• SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment

Work Location 

• Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­­­­Houston office at least 4 days per week.
