Job Overview

The Assistant, Merchant Business Office, supports the Business Director and DMM in the merchandising organization to drive sales, margin, and turnover. They pull standard reports to assist with divisional marketing and reporting recaps. A fundamental requirement is their ability to build trust with teams and key collaborators.

 

What You Will Do

  • Organize Marketing-related meetings to ensure timely preparation.
  • Provide historical data for analyzing the productivity of advertised items, including advertising recaps.
  • Manage the division calendar and ensure the team is aware of important deadlines.
  • Execute corporate reporting for Merchandising leaders, including sending weekly business recaps and best sellers to the GMM and the team.
  • Actively engage in market strategies to boost business performance.
  • Prioritize decisions that benefit the company as a whole.
  • Influence partners effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Continuously develop professionally through ongoing training and development.
  • Innovate solutions for customer and company challenges.
  • Foster open communication and value constructive debate to bring the best ideas forward.

 

Skills You Will Need

Analytical Skills: Ability to pull and analyze historical data for evaluating the productivity of advertised items and making informed decisions.

Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing calendars, organizing meetings, and ensuring timely preparation to meet deadlines effectively.

Reporting and Communication Skills: Capable of executing corporate reporting for Merchandising leaders and communicating insights clearly through written and verbal means.

Decision Making and Influence: Ability to prioritize decisions for the benefit of the company, influence partners effectively, and tailor messages to gain support and commitment from others.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 2+ years of experience in retail or ecommerce buying or planning. 
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
