IT Associate Engineer, Quality Assurance

Role and Scope of Position:
This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of highest quality software and applications to business partners and customers. In that regards, this role will participate in relevant requirement and product design sessions and most importantly develop, document, and execute functional test cases (manual and automated), manage test data solutions, coordinate test data needs for various teams, manage defects, track issues through resolution. This position will collaborate with a broad array of Technology professionals - business analysts, Project Managers, product owners, Software Developers, Product Vendors, testing resources etc. to support quality delivery. IT organization is highly matrixed and although this role is a part of Quality and Testing organization, this role will be embedded in Product Line Teams with dotted and direct line reporting structure to appropriate Leadership.

Essential Functions:

The ideal candidate has experience testing Web, IVR, Mobile, Services and Data. This role will work with senior members of the team, develop, and execute tests (manual & automation) and produce Quality Metrics. This is an individual contributor role with potential for growth. • Participate in product design and workshops with Architecture, Development, and Testing teams
• Contribute to developing Test Strategy & Test Plan
• Develop Test Cases
• Perform functional testing (manual and automation).
• Log defects in the defined Test Management Tool
• Participate in defect triages.
• Contribute to Daily/Weekly Test Status Reports
• Support internal solutions (libraries, tools, automation infrastructure, Test environment, Test data in a broader sense)
• Contribute to iteratively improving the Test processes, tools, and Infrastructure.
• Manage Documentation
• Support Enterprise Test Data Tool, support Test Data Preparation, Reservation and Tracking process to ensure developers and testers (and other users in the system) are using valid test data.
• Support test data refreshes across applications and ecosystems.
• Collaborate with other Test Engineers and Lead (onsite & offshore)
• Collaborate with other cross functional teams such as Product, Solution Integrators, Developers, Architects, IT Security, Networking and Firewall, Systems Team, Cloud and DevOps as required by the project.
• Help foster and pivot towards our vision to drive quality across all product lines and ecosystems.
• Focus on continuous improvement.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill: 

• Understanding of the SDLC is required.
• Experience with Test frameworks, Test methodologies, and processes is desirable.
• Familiarity with relevant commercial and/or home-grown Test Data Tools and Test Data preparation is a huge plus.
• Familiarity with Data Analytics is a plus.
• Experience with Test Management Tools (qTest, ALM), Test Automation (using any relevant tools such as Cypress, Selenium) and broad array of DevOps Tools (AzureDevOps, JIRA, GitHub, Ansible) is a big plus.
• Experience with a programming language/s such as Python, Java, C#
• Mobile Test Automation (Appium, Perfecto, Tricentis) and Mobile Test Lab support (SaaS Solution supporting iOS, Android) is preferred.
• Agile experience is preferred.
• Cloud experience (Azure or AWS) is preferred.
• Industry recognized QA and/or testing certification is a plus. 
• Experience with Test Environment process is a plus.

Education:    

• Bachelor’s Degree (STEM Program preferred) or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions:

• Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
• Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
