Senior Nursing Director Critical Care and Emergency Services

Salary Range: $222,435.20 - $311,396.80 

Position Summary: 

Senior Director, Nursing Practice and Education at Washington Hospital Healthcare System (WHHS) is a member of the senior leadership team and assists the CNO/Associate Administrator of the Division with the development of strategic and education plans, keeps current with healthcare industry trends, and strengthens relationships and builds partnerships within the hospital community. The senior director is responsible for promoting a culture throughout the Division that incorporates the hospitals, Mission and Vision, performance improvement philosophy, and patient safety initiatives. 

The senior director provides leadership and oversight for areas within the assigned services they are required to; provide direction and resources for the implementation of Board approved strategic initiatives, serve as role models for the management staff and conduct succession planning for key positions, and responsible for fiscal performance. 

The Senior Director of Nursing is assigned responsibility for the following services:

• General hospital orientation and clinical nursing staff orientation including competency assessments
• Staff development, In-services, continuing education programs, and annual mandatory education
• Schools of nursing clinical affiliations
• Coordinate ACLS, BLS, and PALS classes
• Teach classes and provide staff training
• Coordinate and manage quarterly nurse sensitive data submission to CALNOC and NDNQI

Qualifications: 

Master's Degree in Nursing or other Healthcare related field is required. 

Mental and physical health commensurate with position. 

Graduate of accredited school of nursing and current license to practice in California. 

BLS certificate required. 

Five years nursing experience and three years nursing management experience and one year in Director level position. 

ANA Certification Nursing Administration or Nursing Professional Development preferred.
