Position Summary:
The position Operations, Controls, and Carrier Compliance Senior Associate will focus on developing, documenting, and implementing controls and processes throughout the RT Brokerage and RT Binding operations, primarily associated with carrier contract/guideline adherence. This position works closely with IT teams, RT Brokerage and Binding management, and other Business Shared Service teams. The position will need to be familiar with contracts (carrier contracts experience preferred) and IT systems and will need to have strong analytical and problems solving skills. In addition, this position will assist with carrier audits and ad-hoc carrier requests. The carrier audit process will require the Senior Associate to assist the Manager with coordination of all internal and external parties and associated information requests throughout the audit process, while adhering to both internal and external deadlines.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the Manager of Operations, Controls, and Carrier Compliance to review and inventory all existing legal agreements and document their key attributes to bring order to the information.
- Work with the Manager and the IT teams to implement the correct contract information into all systems for all legacy contracts, making sure to accurately update information and implement control mechanisms to protect the data.
- Conduct detailed reviews of contract implementation in all RT systems, making sure that contract information has been setup accurately in accordance with the Carrier contract before sign-off of the contract setup.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of the process so that the necessary support is being filed for SOX and External Audit requirements.
- Understand existing financial, I.T, and operational controls and manage adherence to those controls, making sure documentation of controls are updated and communicated as necessary.
- Develop, document, implement, and communicate new controls where necessary as business needs for controls arise.
- Experience documenting processes and workflows.
- Enforce compliance of controls, working with the RT division and other Ryan Specialty departments to understand the controls and implement them into their operating models where necessary.
- Following the predetermined process, manage and coordinate carrier audits for the division as they come in, so that standardization and ease of coordination are key to the process.
- Manage the carrier audit support function, ensuring that you work fluidly with the RT Brokerage or Binding Authority teams and the carrier auditors, providing the required information, coordinating the audits timely and smoothly, as well as obtaining the audit responses from the production teams as requested by the auditor’s instructions.
- Support the Manager of Operations, Controls, and Carrier Compliance in resolving any questions, issues, or documentation requirements, being sure to conduct the due diligence necessary to answer the questions. This is done by working with other RSG teams to obtain the relevant information.
- Assist the Manager with the carrier audit tracking process. Work with the Director of Operations, Controls, and Carrier Compliance and related Brokerage/Binding Authority production teams to make the necessary improvements and implement best practices following carrier audit reports and recommendations.
- Assist the Manager of Operations, Controls, and Carrier Compliance with the due diligence and questionnaire process for our carrier partners to ensure a smooth collation and communication of information. This involves working with several internal departments to obtain information and documentation necessary for the process.
- Perform special projects as needed to support the operations of the RT division.
- Other related tasks/teams may be assigned as needed.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years with an insurance organization in the capacity as a carrier or compliance auditor or a similar background with respects to quality control or audit review
- Strong analytical, data management and decision-making skills.
- Contract review experience to make sure agreements are understood to enable review and quality assurance processes are sound.
- Organized, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in an undefined work environment.
- Ability to take initiative, guide, and influence others toward goal accomplishment.
- Working knowledge of audit frameworks.
- Strong business acumen and deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
