What do we need:
As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will supervise the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance team while ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working order. This includes coordinating routine maintenance, responding to emergency repairs, supervising, coaching, and mentoring the hourly skilled trades maintenance staff.
What’s special about this role:
- Lead a team of Maintenance technicians to ensure that equipment is functioning properly and efficiently
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of all production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Work closely with production personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner
- Ensure that maintenance procedures and policies are followed consistently by the team
- Manage the ordering of spare parts and maintenance supplies
- Develop and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to identify and implement ways to increase equipment efficiency and effectiveness
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members and provide training and development opportunities as needed
Required qualifications:
One of the following;

- Minimum 3 years’ experience plus bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 4 years facilities/manufacturing experience plus Skilled Trades Journeyman or Amway’s Mechanic career path
- Minimum 5 years’ facilities/manufacturing maintenance and BA/BS degree
Skills to be successful in the role:
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues
- Ability to communicate at the maintenance technician level
- Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a way that can be understood and embraced by a non-technical community
- Ability to use computer-based maintenance management software and systems

Our Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the facilities' equipment for our valued customers at our West Michigan and Washington locations. The Maintenance team comprises highly qualified Skilled Trades employees, and the equipment they maintain is involved with a wide range of facilities, equipment, and operations.
