Senior Software Engineer - Front-End

As part of our post-Series C growth, we’re excited to add a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to our team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager on our Lifecycle team, you will use modular, easily extensible Vue.js components to develop and improve client-facing features within our applications. Our tech stack uses a Ruby on Rails 7 RESTful API on the back-end with a Postgresql database; Vue.js, Pinia, Vue-router, Vite, Element UI, and Vitest are used on the front-end; Cypress is used for end-to-end testing; and all of our data and applications are hosted on AWS.

About the role

• Collaborate with product, design, and other specialists to launch new products, iterate on existing features, and build the best user experiences

• Scope new initiatives to figure out the work effort and turnaround time

• Write, test, document, and support efficient, reusable code

• Participate in design and code reviews

• Collaborate in an agile environment on a team that includes front-end, back-end, QA, and design specialists

About you

• 4+ years of professional experience as a front-end, Vue.js, or UI engineer on an agile/scrum team

• Meticulous attention to detail and excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills

• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical partners across multiple teams, departments, and levels; leverages experience to anticipate, iterate on, and solve problems

• Passion for tying technical solutions to business problems and understanding technology value propositions

• Experience with:

• Writing clean, valid, maintainable, and semantically correct HTML/CSS

• Modern JavaScript development  (e.g., ES6+, callbacks, promises, async/await)

• Single Page Application frameworks (Vue preferred) or otherwise extensive vanilla ES6+ experience

• Building flexible, non-brittle front-end unit tests (Jest, Mocha, or Vitest)

• Nice to haves:

• Experience building front-end applications that use RESTful APIs built with Ruby on Rails (Rails v7 preferred)

• Any back-end experience or skills with a back-end language such as PHP, Ruby, Python, or Node.js

• Some PostgreSQL experience with the ability to understand and write efficient queries taking full advantage of Postgres’ JSON/B data types
