Duties and responsibilities:

- Prepares exhibits, reports, and presentations to illustrate findings and recommendations.
- Performs engineering calculations to determine appropriate water quality treatment selection related to surface water and drainage.
- Maintains current knowledge of local, state, and federal water quality management regulations.
- Develops surface water hydrologic modeling or computations.
- Coordinates with government agencies, local authorities, contractors, and internal team members.
- Participates in design activities and meetings between project team members, vendors, subcontractors, and client managers.
- Participates in project decisions regarding technical approaches, feasibility, cost, construction approaches, and scheduling performance.
- Resolves a wide range of water quality treatment issues in creative ways.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred
- 15 to 20 years of experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ)
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with team members and project managers.
- Ability to mentor entry and mid-level engineers.
- Strong attention to detail
- Background and/or experience with engineering analysis and design of various project types including a combination of:
- Strong knowledge of statewide and local NPDES
- WQMP, SUSMP, SWDR and SWPPP
- Stormwater hydrology and hydraulic modeling; stormwater and drainage infrastructure
- Low impact development/green infrastructure
- Preparing project scope and fee proposals
- Working knowledge of software programs and techniques to develop Rational Method or Unit Hydrograph results, which can include:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D / Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Bentley SewerGems (StormCAD), SWMM/XPSWMM, Microsoft Office
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:
$104,560 to $127,795 per year based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
