We are pleased to announce that we are recruiting for an outstanding Psychologist for our Sickle Cell service as part of a comprehensive Sickle Cell center. 

Qualifications

Profile 

We are seeking an excellent Psychologist at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinician or Clinician-Educator Track) to provide evidence based clinical psychological assessment and intervention services as a member of the Sickle Cell service.  Faculty will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment at both UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital Ambulatory Clincs to provide care and services for patients coping with the effects of Sickle Cell. Services include psychological needs assessments, pain management, pre-surgical psychological assessments, individual intervention, and team consultation. Highly competitive candidates will have experience in health psychology, referencing and utilizing evidence-based therapies and integrated behavioral health to manage chronic medical conditions, particularly in populations with limited resources. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic medical career within a collaborative and growing team environment.

Teaching

UT Southwestern has an APA Accredited Doctoral Program in Clinician Psychology as well as an APA Accredited Internship that provides opportunities for teaching. The position includes opportunities for supervision of psychology interns, psychiatry residents, pre- and post-doctoral trainees, and participation in the overall academic mission of the department. Involvement in research is encouraged, and many opportunities exist for collaborative research and involvement in our APA accredited doctoral and internship programs in Clinical Psychology.

Qualifications

Eligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program and have completed an APA-accredited internship. Postdoctoral training and/or experience in health psychology is desired. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. It is expected that the incumbent will seek board certification relatively soon after their appointment.
