Job Overview

The focus of the Director, Enterprise Security position will be to provide strategic direction and leadership for security projects and operations, collaborate across Compute and Operations, Application Development, Privacy, Legal, Corporate, and Vendor resources, and strategically align to a cohesive unified direction for IT security that will protect the Macy’s corporate enterprise, our customer experience, and our customer’s data. The successful candidate would have deep domain knowledge in multiple aspects of Information Security including Security Design, Implementation and Operations, in retail and other industries including staying abreast with industry and competitive trends.

What You Will Do

• An executive that acts independently with minimal direction.
• This position will be responsible for providing and maintaining security protection, driving security initiatives, and aligning security controls across Macy’s enterprise to better support the business. 
• Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and direction in all areas and systems relating to Enterprise Security. 
• Candidates should possess the ability to form strong relationships and communicate with a breadth and variety of knowledge across all systems and areas within the Enterprise Security space.
• Experience in planning and executing security infrastructure implementation projects and managing support resources for all included areas.
• Must exhibit strong leadership and people skills and be able to manage resources as needed to execute project tasks and customer support.
• This role will have overall responsibility for leading Macy's enterprise-level projects, and positive results must be achieved through strong and consistent communications with multiple levels of management.
• Maintain a strong technical background to help remedy any vulnerabilities in the organization
• Identify and address areas needing process improvement, including security engineering and perimeter security.
• Provides thought leadership to optimize operational cost and improve stability using automation.
• Standardizes and automates commonly needed platform components and solutions.
• Support network security infrastructure globally including Firewalls, VPN, Proxies, Web Application Firewalls, and IPS/IDS systems.

Leadership:

• Leader with a passion for operational security, and automation who can deliver enterprise solutions in a large organization.  
• Lead the alignment of security with business and enterprise efforts, including coordination with senior leadership.  
• Partner closely with Technology and Business Units to drive adoption.
• Balance both leading a team and engage directly with the work needed to accomplish the priority use cases.  
• Coach direct reports as they build strategies and roadmaps.  
• Create and foster career development and growth paths for team members in alignment with company and personal objectives.  
• Assist direct reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that the crucial business initiatives are delivered.  
• Provide guidance on recruitment and career pathing for analytics resources  
• Balance team resourcing and talent management 
• Demonstrate Macy’s leadership commitments of promoting diversity and inclusion, encouraging growth, creating connections and driving performance.  

Skills You Will Need

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in IT and/or Information Security with medium to large scale enterprises.
• At least 10 years’ experience with leading and managing projects, preferably infrastructure efforts.
• Advanced level knowledge with infrastructure design and architecture, for both new implementations and mitigating controls for existing infrastructure deployments.<
