Supervisor, Plans & Specs

Dodge Construction Network (Dodge) is searching for a Supervisor, Plans & Specs to join our team!

The Supervisor, Plans & Specs is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of a remote team responsible for accurate delivery of construction documents and other derivative services of electronic files. This position works closely with internal and external teams which are responsible for prioritizing construction projects and resolving issues within the company’s systems and for Dodge customer use.

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the Manager, Plans & Specs Team.

Preferred Location

• This is a remote, home-office based role and candidates located in the continental United States will be considered
• For this position, there is a preference to hire in the Central and Eastern time zones

Travel Requirements

Expected travel is 5% for this role

Essential Functions

• Administer the collection, processing, and posting of construction plans and specifications to the web
• Coach, mentor and manage performance of team 
• Ability to communicate across teams and levels of the company
• Ability to drive change and promote learning and the sharing of knowledge
• Resolve content issues when projects are online
• De-dupe multiple files
• Extract valid files from invalid files within same directory
• Able to navigate complex directory trees online to locate drawings
• Ability to understand indexing methodology
• Ability to understand plans product, database constraints, and project stages and lifecycles
• Must have capacity to learn several internal applications

Education Requirement

High School diploma or GED; College degree preferred

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 3+ years of experience leading a team
• Computer proficiency: MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, Google Chrome, Tableau
• Familiarity with multiple file formats (PDF, DWG, DXF, TIFF, JPG, DXF, DGN) and how to download viewers
• Excellent organization/time management and multi-tasking skills
• Able to work effectively in an independent, remote environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent reading comprehension
• Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent internet research skills
• Positive, professional demeanor

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 3+ years construction industry experience
• CSI Certification
• Knowledge of file conversion software for second-tier diagnosis
