This Position

Remote SWE

You are a seasoned engineer that is passionate about building cloud based, highly scalable, secure and available web applications. You are looking for a challenging opportunity and have the ability and desire to bring new ideas. You are enthusiastic about working in the latest technologies, such as Serverless, Node.js, MongoDB, OpenAPI, and GraphQL. You are a team player and will work with other experienced co-workers to help us evolve the technology stack to build modern and awesome user experience for our customers.

You have led projects from the drawing board to MVP and beyond, and ideally have experience within consumer or business to business companies selling to small and medium size businesses. Your background enables you to anticipate near and future term roadblocks, balancing a fast, iterative Agile approach with an appropriate level of technical debt to launch our startup into the next level. 

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a large, secure and scalable distributed system
• Build well-documented, repeatable API’s 
• Provide ongoing support, maintenance and enhancement of systems
• Perform peer code reviews and Code audit - Analyze existing code and remediate performance issues within existing applications
• Unit test modules, integration testing with other modules to deliver quality code (partnering with QA)
• Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers to build upon
• Work with a strong set of teams to improve developing and deploying applications and customizations
• Collaborate with best of breed UX designers, researchers and front-end developers to ensure seamless flow and interactivity...or work full stack and build the front end functionality you need!
• Apply new technology and innovation to improve platform functionality
• Deliver and outstanding experience for our customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in STEM, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of secure coding principles
• Experience as lead on projects or technical components
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience building complex systems
• Expertise working with JavaScript, node.js and MongoDB
• 6+ years of development experience in core coding languages (ie, Java, C/C++, .Net, etc)
• 3+ years of experience building scalable web applications using Node.js
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis)
• Significant experience creating API’s, using OpenAPI specification and tools
