Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing managerial direction and control over the Division of Aeronautics' business services activities, management of the division's telecommunication equipment, management of purchasing, administering the employee safety program, and providing administrative support to the Bureau Chief of Administrative Services.

Essential Functions

• Plans, organizes, and directs the Division of Aeronautics' business services activities to ensure efficient operations.
• Manages, develops, and coordinates contract services to support Division of Aeronautics goals.
• Ensures compliance with the Illinois Procurement Code through review and coordination of Division of Aeronautics purchases, leases, and contractual services contracts using BidBuy and other state approved procurement systems/methods.
• Evaluates and processes all internal requests for special supplies and equipment.
• Administers the Division of Aeronautics' employee safety program and ensures a safe working environment for all employees by ensuring that they comply with the department's Safety Code Manual.
• Plans, supervises, and coordinates the acquisition, distribution, and control of Division of Aeronautics' office and space allocation.
• Completes annual physical inventory of all Division of Aeronautics' assets and maintains a property control data file.
• Serves as liaison with the Illinois Office of the Comptroller and CMS with respect to purchasing for the Division of Aeronautics.
• Acts as procurement liaison with departmental offices and CMS.
• Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of a bachelor's degree majoring in business, finance, or public administration plus two years of experience managing contracts, procurements, or other business functions in a private or public organization, OR Eight years of experience managing contracts, procurements, or other business functions in a private or public organization.
