Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) group is looking for a F-22 Mission Systems Engineer to join our Flight Test and Evaluation team at Edwards AFB, CA which is located approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles, CA.

Edwards AFB is the home of the 412th Test Wing and the 2nd largest Air Force base.   The wing oversees base day-to-day operations and provides support for over 10,000 military, federal civilian and contract personnel assigned to a 481-square mile installation.  The 412th Test Wing plans, conducts, analyzes, and reports on all flight and ground testing of aircraft, weapons systems, software and components as well as modeling and simulation for the U.S. Air Force. There are three core components for this mission: flying operations, maintenance and engineering.

The Boeing Company supports multiple platforms at Edwards AFB. This posting is for the support of the 411th Flight Test Squadron (F-22 CTF) where Boeing works directly with our Air Force customer and our industry partners supporting its mission to improve the warfighting capabilities of the Air Force through system integration, development, test and evaluation of the F-22 Raptor.

The site is comprised of a diverse team of Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) employees who are extremely motivated, skilled, knowledgeable, and highly valued by our customers and business partners.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Experienced and Senior level F-22 Mission Systems Engineers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and validate requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
  • Develop architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platforms
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
  • Define and conduct tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
  • Manage appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle by developing root-cause analysis of anomalies and other engineering support as requested
  • Support project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and by reporting project status
  • Write appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business
  • Work under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 1+ years of avionics integration experience
  • 1+ years of Military Flight Test experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience on military fighter platforms (F-16, F-18, F-22, F-5, F-14, or F-15)
  • F-22 avionics experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master
