The Modelling/Forecasting Specialist, Stress Testing supporting various business lines contributes to strategic technical planning and identify opportunities to support business strategy. Expert role which provides technical leadership to others in the development of a broad range of complex models that support business needs.
Depth & Scope:
- Acts as a subject matter expert integrating cross function understanding within their own field of specialty
- Works autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead within a specialized analytics function and may provide work direction to others
- Provides seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members
- Expert at utilizing data sources across the organization with ability to integrate data across multiple platforms
- Works effectively across multiple business units with numerous stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics solutions
- Scope of role may have business segment and /or enterprise impact
- Generally focuses on broad range of complex issues that may span from medium long term issues (e.g. 6-12 months)
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
- 7+ years relevant experience
- Proficient PC skills including a strong competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, and a variety of PC based analytical and reporting software packages.
- Experience making complex and broad predictions based on a vast amount of past and/or present data through the development of statistical and/or mathematical models
- Strong analytical and program solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: SAS and SQL advanced skills, coding a plus
Customer Accountabilities:
- Works closely with business management on data modelling requests / activities to ensure alignment with overall strategies
- Leads the activities related to delivery of data deliverables - data package, data model, and data mappings
- Responsible for reading business and technical requirements to ensure data deliverables meet business needs
Shareholder Accountabilities:
- Creates, maintains and adheres to project plan for these deliverables
- Leads multi-stakeholder sessions (business, design, Tech teams, focused on data deliverables).
- Conducts walkthroughs of all data deliverables to aid approval / sign-off process with internal stakeholders
Employee/Team Accountabilities:
- Acts as a technical working lead/resource to others. Work closely with senior leadership on significant projects.
- Provides thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise
- Supports a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork; ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
- May provide guidance to other Data Analysts / Modellers
- Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Works effectively as a team, supporting other members of the team in achieving business objectives and providing client services
- Participates in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
