The Registered Dietitian in this role will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education and counseling to patients. You will offer specialized visits depending on the patient's diagnosis, working in areas such as the Bariatric Metabolic Institute (BMI) and Dr. Chan’s Weight Management Clinic. Your role is essential in optimizing nutrition care for our patients and the patient experience as a whole. 

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for an assigned patient population. 

• Provide counseling and education services to patient with disease processes that require nutritional management. 

• Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system and maintain documentation. 

• Write changes for diet orders, initiate nutrient intake assessments, assess patients for signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies, evaluate appropriate fluid and electrolytes, review laboratory and clinical progress notes, inform physicians of patients' nutritional status and need for changes in diet, enteral or parenteral feeding, and develop care plans, documentation and reassessments. 

• Develop and contribute to Cleveland Clinic sponsored education programs for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, peers and the public. 

• Create and revise education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy. 

• Participate in program development designed to market and expand departmental services and revenue generation. 

• Market services to potential and current referral sources and develop and implement services in response to client's needs and wants. 

• Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor. 

• Complete reports for ongoing productivity tracking.
