The role of an IT analyst is to implement IT solutions, by managing advanced activities for building key capabilities required by stakeholders and to continuously improve the IT landscape and processes.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree, preferably in a technical field ;
• Microsoft 365 certifications are an asset ;
• Excellent knowledge of Windows-based user environments, notably of Group Policies and registry settings managemen t;
• Excellent knowledge of large-scale Digital Workplace administration, including operational monitoring, telemetry, update/patch management, configuration change management ;
• Understanding of Data Protection regulations and their impact on technical solutions ;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365’s applications management and administration ;
• Good understanding of network principles and technologies ;
• Good understanding of IT security matters ;
• Knowledge of scripting tools ;
• Ability to cope with fast-changing technologies and configurations ;
• Ability to conduct complex, in-depth, multipartite technical investigations into issues that involve multiple components ;
• Technical redaction skills in English and/or French .

Job Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on solution configuration, management and support services to the Microsoft 365 Administration team ;
• Assist in preparing and implementing changes in the context of delivering M365-based services to the Commission’s IT users and customers ;
• Ensure best practices adapted to the environment are applied ;
• Assist in configuring the solution and its subsystems for best possible performance for the end users ;
• Assist in defining and implementing governance and cybersecurity policies ;
• Define and assist in the implementation of monitoring and data collection policies ;
• Regularly review and report on capacity, performance and KPI metrics ;
• Foster, develop and maintain relationships with technical counterparts within the Digital Workplace programme ;
• Prepare requests for changes to the environment and assess change requests introduced by other teams ;
• Implement requests for changes as decided by the appropriate governance and steering bodies ;
• Collaborate with the DWP Lead Architect in the definition of the High-Level Architecture ;
• Provide support teams and solution providers whose activities rely on the M365 platform with advanced technical assistance ;
• Document the configuration of the environment and of any related integration mechanisms, and keep such documentation updated over time. Document technical business continuity plans and maintain them over time ;
• Maintain required technical knowledge and certifications as specified by management.
