Senior Orthotist/Prosthetist (530430)

The Team:

Orthotic Prosthetic Services Tasmania (OPST) is located in the spacious Repatriation Hospital site, a part of the Royal Hobart Hospital. You will be in a diverse and energetic team of 17, including Orthotists, Prosthetists, Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Technicians and Administrators. We pride ourselves in patient-centred care and this requires compassion and determination to improve the lives of the community we interact with, from all members of our team.

The Role:

• Provide leadership to the orthotic and/or prosthetic clinical teams within OPST.
• Coordinate the provision of an efficient and effective orthotic and/or prosthetic service, which includes facilitating consumer-perspectives in service design, and providing support and training for clinical, technical and administrative teams.
• Provide client-centred, evidence-based orthotic and prosthetic services for clients, involving effective collaboration with peer services, interdisciplinary teams and referrers.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: 

$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Allowances: 

• Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Tertiary qualifications in Orthotics and Prosthetics, and evidence of membership of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association

• Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
