Intro:
Technology is an accelerator for our customers, helping them solve their toughest challenges. In this role, you’ll be accountable for developing and owning messaging and content for an engineering organization responsible for intelligent machine systems. This role will also support priority division human resources initiatives. You’ll work closely with leadership and subject matter experts to design and execute strategic communications to further the organization's business objectives.
What You Will Do:
- Lead strategic communications for the vice president overseeing engineering and innovation for intelligent machine systems. Translate priorities into campaigns, milestones and engagement opportunities that build understanding, alignment and support for our mission: Solve our customers’ toughest challenges.
- Support HR and culture communications: Provide strategic communications counsel and execution support to Cat Technology’s HR Director, including communications for priority HR initiatives.
- Lead content development: Support our narrative, creating compelling fact-based messaging that drives collaboration, understanding and excitement in our technology solutions and how they help transform our customers’ businesses.
- Develop audience-focused content in partnership with technology subject matter experts; business leaders; and communications, marketing and media relations colleagues. Deliverables may include customer stories, announcements, events, presentations, speeches, communications plans and articles for internal and external audiences.
- Strengthen communications governance and continuity: Own the external communications approval process for Cat Technology Division, uphold brand standards across content and serve as the back-up for the Cat Technology communications channel owner.
- Lead internal communications that recognize team achievements, project milestones and success stories through all-employee meetings and division communications channels.
- Analyze performance: Monitor communications metrics to refine strategies and continuously improve engagement.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and advising on the suitability of approaches for communication efforts.
- Tracking and analyzing metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Creating content for employee communication channels; ensuring that messaging and branding are consistent across all channels.
- Developing and distributing communications materials, such as written communications, presentation materials, etc. to deliver key messages.
What You Have :
- Education/Experience: Degree or equivalent experience desired. College or university degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. 5+ years of job-related experience in corporate communications. Proficiency in digital communication tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
- Analyzes the interests or requirements of the audience; shares only relevant information in a direct and efficient manner.
- Adapts standard communication approaches when conducting dialogue with different audiences or conveying messages.
- Explains others' viewpoints and asks questions to ensure mutual understanding.

- Provides persuasive messages using well-reasoned arguments to address audience concerns or reactions.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
