Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Supervisor - Environmental Services (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are 6:00AM - 2:00PM, including alternating weekends.
The Supervisor of Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Environmental Services department, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital. This role involves supervising a team of environmental services staff, implementing cleaning protocols, ensuring compliance with hospital standards, and maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction through effective cleanliness practices.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, and motivate a team of Environmental Services team members, ensuring productivity and efficiency in daily cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Collaborate with the Manager to establish and prioritize daily/weekly work schedules and assignments for the staff
- Works with the leadership team to oversee department schedules and edit/approve payroll.
- Assign duties to the staff, issues supplies and equipment, and inspects completed work.
- Ensure through daily/continuous rounding that all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, public spaces, offices, hallways, restrooms are cleaned thoroughly and disinfected in accordance with hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
- Provide ongoing training and development to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to adhere to hospital standards and safety protocols.
- Participate in team member performance evaluations as well as provide feedback to enhance team performance and overall department productivity.
- Arrange with the Environmental Services Manager for any special activity functions such as Auditoriums and other set-up etc.
- Applies a knowledge of isolation techniques and follows up to assure that sanitation and safety regulations are followed.
- Coordinates the removal of trash from grounds and entrances and inspects these areas daily.
- Reports the need for repairs and maintenance. Follows up for completion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree is a plus.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to bend/lift/push/pull at least 50lbs.
- Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.
- Great customer service/people skills required.
Relevant Experience:
- Hospital housekeeping experience/worked as a hospital housekeeper preferred.
- Environmental services (housekeeping) or a relevant area of hospitality management preferred.
- Strong computer (Excel, Word and Power Point) a must.
