Summer Intern – Software Engineering  

 

Allegion is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Software Engineering Internship.  At Allegion, our software teams are focused on building great software that allows our IoT enabled security hardware to do amazing things.  In this role you will have the opportunity to do mobile (Android/iOS) application development. You will also be exposed to AWS/Azure infrastructure, DevOps, and other tools and technologies that we use to build best in class solutions.

What You Will Do:  

  • Participate in development discussions and implement solutions on real projects 

  • Work with a team to produce well-rounded solutions. 

  • Obtain the experience to create a foundation for growth and future opportunities with Allegion 

  • Analyzes and defines software requirements to determine specifications and standards. 

  • Determines the cost of new and modified systems and engages in the proposal process. 

  • Develops, designs, and edits original applications, or modifies third-party applications. 

  • Tests and approves applications. Trains users and writes training manuals. Manages user support and feedback. 

  • May specialize in one or more areas of development, including network, operating systems, databases, or applications. 

 

What You Need to Succeed:  

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering. 

  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly. 

  • Ability to work independently and as a team player. 

  • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques  

  • A desire to learn, grow and develop by working on projects that will impact Allegion’s business and customers
