Summary
The postdoc will be working in collaboration with the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) to tackle the diagnosis of rare neurological diseases using the fruit fly as a model organism. The UDN physicians identify variants based on sequencing information from patients. The corresponding homologs are then studied in the fruit fly to uncover novel disease-causing genes. Postdoc will focus on genes which unknown function and are associated with human diseases. The postdoc's work will help us uncover new rare genetic human diseases as well as the underlying mechanisms.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Maintains laboratory operations.
- Supervises research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD is required.
