Martin North Hospital’s Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and the leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Emergency Department is a great place for caregivers who want to work with diverse populations of patients and develop a wide skillset treating a variety of medical problems. This department is team-oriented and committed to supporting you as you discover, learn, and grow. The opportunities here are endless with a shared governance model, certifications and leadership growth into Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager roles.
A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm—7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to RN, these include but are not limited to vital signs, weights, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, application of external monitoring devises, and further technical skills of phlebotomy, clean dressing changes, 12-lead ECGs, and insertion of urinary Foley Catheters.
Assist with keeping patient's' rooms clean & orderly.
Maintain personal growth and development through the ongoing process of formal and informal education.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within new hire period
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training
