Accounts Receivable & Cash Applications Analyst - (Hybrid Schedule)

Position Description

Serco Inc. is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable & Cash Applications Analyst, who will be responsible for cash forecasting and applications of all billed receivables, to join our Corporate Finance team in Herndon, VA - (Hybrid Schedule). You will work independently as well as cross functionally, multi-task with minimal supervision, and work closely with the Billing team, Program Managers, Project Financial Analysts, and the Treasury team to ensure accuracy and completeness of cash reporting, forecasting and applications. This position plays a pivotal role in cash account reconciliations; ensuring accurate and timely processing of cash receipts. Through meticulous diligence and effective teamwork, the individual contributes to the smooth functioning and overall financial health of the company.

 

This will be a Hybrid work schedule out of our Herndon, VA office with 1-2 days in office a week. 

 

This position requires flexible working hours to accommodate close deadlines and could require work on holidays, weekends, and/or overtime.

 

In this role you will:

 

• Daily cash reporting from multiple banks.
• Prepare, verify, and reconcile a high volume of cash receipts with superior accuracy and minimal errors.
• Create monthly collections forecasts and track daily receipts against the forecast.
• Proactively identifies and addresses discrepancies – both over and under, contributing to the smooth functioning of financial processes.
• Research and resolution of unapplied cash transactions.
• Prepare account analysis, account reconciliations and various financial reports.
• Be able to manage time to deliver within deadlines and standards.
• Be able to effectively perform as part of a team.
• Have high attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrate research and problem-solving skills.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to associates at all levels of the organization, emphasizing customer service.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

 

• U.S Citizenship is required 
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Or a High School diploma with 4 additional years of experience of Cash Applications experience in lieu of degree
• Minimum 3 years of Cash Applications experience
• Experience working in a government contracting environment 
• Experience using VLOOKUP and Pivot Table functions in Excel
• High level of proficiency in the MS Office Suite
• Deadline driven, organized, and detail oriented

Additional desired experience and skills: 

• Experience using Deltek CostPoint 8.1, or later, in A/R functions, specifically Cash Receipts
• Experience using Cognos Impromptu for reporting

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $66,154.44 to $99,232.27; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
