<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Mohs Scheduler plays a pivotal role in supporting Mohs Surgeons by overseeing administrative tasks essential to patient scheduling, communication, and follow-up care. This position demands a detail-oriented professional with exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of patient care.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions</strong>:</p> <p>To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct post-operative follow-up calls to assess patient recovery, addressing concerns such as pain, bleeding, or bandage-related issues.</li> <li>Coordinate and confirm surgical appointments, maintaining a surgical cancellation list for efficient scheduling adjustments.</li> <li>Organize and maintain accurate surgical paper charts (Mohs maps) on a weekly basis, ensuring all preparations are completed prior to surgeries.</li> <li>Prepare comprehensive documentation for surgical phone consultations and coordinate related communications.</li> <li>Monitor patients on anticoagulants, such as Coumadin, to ensure appropriate INR levels are maintained for surgical safety.</li> <li>Oversee the management of tasks within the Electronic Medical Assistant (EMA) system to streamline workflow.</li> <li>Serve as the liaison for intra-team communications, coordinating patient calls and scheduling within the Mohs department.</li> <li>Communicate with plastic surgeons regarding patient scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed.</li> <li>Maintain the Pathology Log, ensuring accurate documentation of follow-up actions, treatment plans, and prescription entries.</li> <li>Keep culture logs up to date in compliance with established protocols.</li> <li>Respond to voicemail messages for the Mohs department promptly and professionally.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework is preferred.</li> <li>A minimum of one year of administrative experience in a medical setting is required.</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</li> <li>Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly EMA, is highly preferred.</li> </ul> <p>This role requires a proactive, dependable, and detail-oriented individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.
