JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an SAP Purchasing Lead, your responsibilities will span across SAP systems (S/4HANA and SAP R3), international collaboration, and agile methodologies within the S/4HANA Transformation Project. Your role involves close collaboration with local plants and the Global Business Process Owner.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Drive process and system standardization and harmonization, in agreement with the G-BPR. contribute to overall performance within the purchasing process area.
  • Define short-term and long-term development requirements for S/4HANA and other IT systems, in collaboration with the G-BPO and the R-BPO EMEA & APAC.
  • Play a crucial role in training and developing local Key-Users as process and system experts.
  • Establish and facilitate a community of process experts within your region. This community continuously exchanges insights on process execution, harmonization, and business requirements around S/4HANA and other IT systems.
  • Together with the G-BPO, conduct local process audits to ensure the highest level of process harmonization from a global perspective.
  • Process Improvement: The RBPO evaluates existing procurement processes, identifies areas for improvement, and develops strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Performance Objectives: They define key performance objectives related to procurement processes.
  • Integration: Ensuring integration with other BPO networks, including collaboration with the IT department.
  • Monitoring and Control: Monitoring execution, adherence to processes, and performance indicators across user communities.
  • Change Implementation: Overseeing common process changes and assessing their impact on benefits and costs.
  • User Knowledge Standards: Defining key user knowledge standards and planning training initiatives.
  • Process Expertise: Advising senior management on process-related matters.
  • Collaboration: Working with local procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance teams to implement and control processes.

 

Knowledge:

 

  • Solid foundation in SAP R3 systems and S/4HANA
  • Possess the ability to navigate and execute procurement-related tasks within these systems (Material Management module).
  • Agile mindset characterizes your approach, enabling you to adapt with agility to evolving requirements and priorities, coupled with strong communication skills that ensure effective collaboration across global teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the purchasing process, from requisition through to order placement, receipt, and invoice verification, underscores your expertise.

 

Experience:

 

  • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in international projects, your capacity to navigate cross-functional team dynamics is proven.
  • Working knowledge of SAP R3 [Material Management / SAP-MM] & S/4HANA required.
  • SCRUM or PMP certification preferred.

 

Skills:

 

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of procurement processes
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in system performance and knowledge management
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, supply chain or related field.

 

Travel:

 

  • 25%
