Zynga is looking for a best-in-class Principal Artist to join the ZW3 organization and support the Visual Direction across our portfolio. This work encompasses an art role with many touchpoints (UI, 2D, 3D, etc.) to support the game’s Creative Direction at all stages of development from pre-dev to live-ops.

Main Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Art and Creative Direction to align with art needs from a multi-disciplinary lens.
• Be able to contribute to and learn from a style guide
• Pluses project style and recognizes asset related needs.
• Great teammate that has diverse experience in the art space.
• Proactive self-starter.
• Communicative and flexible to team needs and dynamics.
• Organized and proactive in making and maintaining art repo structure and naming conventions.
• High caliber and integrity of art quality that fits within the style target.
• Brings a Graphic Design lens into UI and 2D production art creation.
• Enjoys working within 2D and 3D to contribute widely across creative and gameplay needs.
• Involved in implementation of art content direct to engine, ensuring consistency of visual quality.
• Keeps informed of innovative ways and technologies in the industry and communicates opportunities to foster the look and feel.
• Creation of art assets and assessment of outstanding art needs to ensure timely project results.
• Provides mentoring to team members to further support growth and knowledge within the greater ZBC creative team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Effective communication with team members of varying fields including written documentation of pipeline processes, with a focus on art.
• 10+ years of professional experience building art for video games across multiple mediums.
• Excellent skills with 3D software such as 3dsMax, Maya, etc.
• Base knowledge of W2 and W3, NFT, and Blockchain.
• Understanding of optimizing 3D and 2D assets for memory and performance considerations.
• Proven experience in game development including multiple shipped titles.
• Core Adobe Creative Suite skills, including the Adobe Substance 3D Collection.

Comfortable with 2D and 3D art task swapping, including but not limited to:

• 2D, UI, with select UX
• 3D Character Modeling
• 3D Animation
• Material and Shader Development
• Vector Art
• Illustration
• Engine implementation
• Solid understanding of core principles of art and graphic design.
• Scripting knowledge is a plus including, but not limited to: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Python, MEL, MAXscript.
• Experience in Motion Graphics Animation and VFX a plus.
