Upstream Rehabilitation, is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team

  

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Corporate Counsel is a senior attorney who provides legal counsel to the company, its executives and senior management, and associates.  The Senior Corporate Counsel reports to the General Counsel, assists with management of day-to-day activities in the legal department, and assists with junior attorneys and legal staff.  Responsible for leading legal projects including but not limited to contract negotiation and drafting, litigation and risk management activities, and human resources matters, in each case as assigned by the General Counsel.  Works with the company’s compliance staff to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.  Works closely with the business team to accomplish the company’s business goals and support the mission, vision and values of Upstream Rehabilitation.  Experience in the healthcare sector preferred.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of legal experience
• Current license to practice law in jurisdiction of home office, and in good standing with the state bar of such jurisdiction
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Organized, flexible and independent worker, with a superior work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressured environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Highest level of research and analytical skills.
• Sound business ethics, including the protection of confidential information.
• Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality, compliance, service and integrity.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Servs in the absence of the General Counsel, provides legal counsel to the company, its executives and senior management, and associates.
• Manages day to day activities in the legal department, and oversees junior attorneys and legal staff.
• Responsible for leading legal projects including but not limited to contract negotiation and drafting, litigation and risk management activities, and human resources litigation, in each case as assigned by the General Counsel.
• Works with the company’s compliance staff to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsible for leading legal projects including but not limited to contract negotiation and drafting, litigation and risk management activities, and human resources matters, in each case as assigned by the General Counsel.
• Other duties as assigned.
