About the role

Manager-Ocean Contract Management
Responsible to manage high complexity portfolio (Tier 1&2 suppliers) from Ocean Categories contract implementation, visibility and performance align with compliance and risk management policy, in collaboration with other functions. Drive contract value materialization and partnering with global standardization agenda regionally across Ocean procurement categories.
Main Responsibilities
Regional Procurement
• Responsible for high complexity portfolio (Tier 1&2)
• Contribution with global operators contract and performance management community providing regional insights.
• Communicate supplier contract. Conducting contract handover for execution and alignment on the roles & responsibilities and time frames for implementing the contract, supplier ESG improvement actions. Managing contract renewal and updates.
• Operationalize supplier contract. Translating the contract into business usable format for execution of SLAs, payment terms, contract master data etc. First point of escalation for payment related queries
• Manage contract compliance and performance:
• Ensure compliance is managed as TOP priority across procurement categories to support Maersk long-term business sustainability and risk management excellence.
• Manage and drive Service Level Agreement negotiation, execution and its governance/compliance with Terminals together with Sourcing and Operation teams.




• Maximize Contract Value capitalization (sliding scales, rebates, commitments, etc) both tactical for achieved value, and provide visibility on risk and opportunities with relevant functions Operations, Market, Equipment Flow, etc
• Partner with sourcing managers to develop strategy on SLA and Contract Value based on current contract learnings for renegotiation
Global Procurement
• Build close relations with global trasnformation teams members, global community and foster a One Procurement Maersk mindset across Ocean categories.
• Govern the One PRO Maersk mindset. Act as a point of escalation relating to dispute and issue resolution regionally.

Vendor & Supplier Management includes roles that manage key/strategic supplier relationships and develops profitable vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing. Ensure favorable pricing and develops KPIs for vendor selection. Collaborate with business partners on vendor management to meet business needs. Evaluate and provide recommendations for buying strategies to senior leaders. Oversee delivery from vendor and evaluate vendor performance/impact on business outcomes. Includes sourcing of flexible workforce suppliers (for both Frontline and Office-based populations).
Management stream includes those who primarily lead people for whom they have employee lifecycle responsibilities including hire/fire decisions, coaching/mentoring, coordination of tasks, appraising performance, pay reviews, and developing for future assignments.

The management responsibilities are in addition to job specific accountabilities for objectives such as setting direction and developing business & operational areas, developing policies & practices, and implementing business plans. The planning horizon can vary from short to long term dependent on the career stage and goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports.

Progression within this stream reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities.
A colleague at this level has in-depth knowledge and experience in a functional area. The colleague routinely applies subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues operating within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies. A colleague at this level handles most situations independently, receives minimal guidance, but will seek advice, guidance and support on more complex or non-routine topcis.

The colleague understands the overall nature of the business and the interdependencies between own and other functions.

Leaders at this level are accountable for performance and results in teams of less experienced professionals, frontline workers and admins, and will adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
