Job Addendum: Sr Consultant, Actuarial - Small Commercial Strategic Pricing
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Teams: Partner with underwriting and project management teams in Small Commercial to ensure strong price adequacy across GL and Umbrella lines of business.
Enhance Pricing Sophistication: Drive pricing sophistication through feedback sessions with field partners, data scientists, and Commercial Lines pricing.
Market Insights & Strategies: Work with pricing and reserving departments to synthesize market insights and underwriting strategies with our loss ratio estimates and pricing indications.
Financial Planning & Forecasting: Support financial planning and forecasting activities, leveraging initiatives across the entire P&C finance operation.
Data Products & Reporting: Guide, validate, and review new data products and reporting that support key pricing decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver impactful projects.
Industry Trends & Risks: Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks affecting the small commercial insurance market.
Special Projects: Contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL, and/or Databricks.
Work Arrangements:
It is highly preferred that this role will work on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days per week at one of our office locations in Columbus, OH, Des Moines, IA, or Scottsdale, AZ. This role can also be filled fully remote. This role will be staffed at the G5 internal pay band.

We’ll count on you to be adept at complex actuarial techniques and work independently to combine advanced actuarial and business knowledge to provide high-level analysis. Additionally, you’ll have expertise to provide consultation and recommendations on deliverables and maintain detailed documentation of actuarial models and analyses. You’ll work independently and may lead others.

Key Responsibilities:
Acts as a technical expert of actuarial methodologies allowing the ability to source and manipulate data within standard requirements.
Conducts complex analyses, adhering to actuarial standards, by selecting appropriate data sources, making assumptions, recognizing considerations, and developing recommendations. Resolves unreasonable results/non-optimal solutions using experience and professional judgment. Begins using results to influence decisions at a higher level.
Accurately documents assumptions, methods, sources, and considerations in an organized fashion.
Prepares and presents actuarial findings and documents that are suitable for technical and non-technical audiences at the senior Actuarial leadership level. May professionally represent company's position with regulators, auditors, and external vendors. May negotiate within defined parameters.
Develops cross functional work plans and ensures accurate work product is delivered.
