Job Description

As a Security Officer - Access Control Patrol in Pennington, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas. Your presence and attention to detail will help create a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets. You will be responsible for managing access points, verifying credentials, and responding to security-related alarms or incidents as needed. This position requires you to be comfortable using computers or tablets to document activities and communicate with team members. As this is a driving post, a valid driver's license is required. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles as required.
• Assist with the implementation of site-specific security-related procedures and policies to help maintain a secure environment within the manufacturing and industrial setting.
• Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with access-related matters.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report any suspicious activity, security-related incidents, or policy violations to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel and/or client representatives.
• Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations or lockdowns when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
