About the role

The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management, is looking for an Estimator IV – General Trades. This position will support the Los Angeles Community College District (Build LACCD) Capital Improvement Program and serve as a senior-level cost estimating professional. The Estimator will report to the PMO Program Controls Manager and Chief Estimator, providing leadership and hands-on support in preparing, reviewing, and validating construction cost estimates for new buildings, renovations, and other major capital projects across the District.

*Salary Range: $170K/Year-$180K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed construction cost estimates for Type I, II, III, and V buildings based on drawings, specifications, and scope documents.
  • Review and evaluate consultant and contractor cost estimates for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Develop independent cost estimates for change orders, extra work, and fair-cost proposals.
  • Visit job sites as needed to gather data and verify project conditions.
  • Review bids, RFIs, RFCs, and value engineering proposals.
  • Analyze costs for labor, materials, and equipment using current market and historical data.
  • Prepare cost analysis reports, memos, and recommendations for management review.
  • Follow CSI MasterFormat standards (knowledge of UniFormat is a plus).
  • Support the Program Controls and estimating team as needed on special assignments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of recent experience preparing complete construction cost estimates for building projects, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimating principles, contract pricing, and construction methods.
  • Experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC).
  • Knowledge of local construction labor and material costs.
  • Ability to identify cost discrepancies and prepare detailed independent estimates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (additional experience may substitute year-for-year).
  • Able to work onsite and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using the eGordian database for JOC estimating.
  • Familiarity with Prevailing Wage and Union Labor Rates.
  • Experience with RS Means, NECA, and MCAA labor productivity data.
  • Knowledge of RS Means Cost Estimating Online.
