3rd Shift Equipment Repair Technician

Position Overview:
As an Equipment Repair Technician, you are responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repai,r and diagnostics/troubleshooting of all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) within the facility – this includes but is not limited to Electric Pallet Jacks, Forklifts etc. You will be responsible for ensuring all repairs are documented and aligned with OSHA – state and federal policies as well as company policies to drive a safe working environment and culture.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting in the routine maintenance of MHE including but not limited to inspection, lubrications and adjustments
• Working with experienced technicians within the department to identify, troubleshoot and repair issues with MHE
• Assisting with diagnostics and repairing of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems
• Use material handling equipment (center riders, long-forks, forklifts etc.) in a safe manner moving MHE to and from maintenance shop for repairs
• Repairing and replacing defective components or systems
• Utilizing hand and power tools to dissemble, repair and reassemble equipment
• Performing safety inspections in accordance with OSHA and company policies on all equipment prior to being released back to the floor for use
• Conducting preventative maintenance following manufacturing guidelines and specifications within the established time frames – including oil changes, filter changes, calibrations, belt changes, adjustments, lubrications & fluids (hydraulic etc.) changes
• Maintaining quality standards of product throughout shift – working in a damage free manner
• Read and understand equipment schematics, operating and maintenance manuals to complete preventative and general repairs for all equipment being overseen
• Clear and concise reporting of inspections, preventative maintenance, evaluations to management
• Logging time and materials utilizing CMMS on a daily basis – repairs, preventative maintenance etc.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouse
• Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Environment:
• Warehouse Perishable – approx. 26F - 60F
Schedule:
• Sunday - Thursday
• 10:00 PM-6:30 AM
Experience:
• Preferred: One (1) year of technical experience – Automotive or Industrial Equipment
• Preferred: MHE experience (Electric pallet jacks such as center riders or long forks; forklifts)
• Own and maintain up-to-date tools of the trade
Skills:
• Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
• Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
• Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
• Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
