The Yale School of Nursing (www.nursing.yale.edu) invites applications from (and nominations of) highly qualified candidates for a Clinical Ladder Track (Assistant or Associate Professor) faculty position specializing in Adult and Older Adult nursing. 

Our nursing program is renowned for its commitment to excellence in education, clinical practice, and research. We seek a PhD/DNP-prepared (or equivalent) faculty member with academic experience, a productive program of scholarship, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to better health for all people through quality advanced practice and doctoral-level nursing education. A focus on scholarship addressing current clinical challenges for adult and older adult populations is desired.

This position represents an unparalleled opportunity with the resources necessary to become one of the leaders of our outstanding nursing program.  The successful candidate will have teaching, clinical, and administrative responsibilities within the nursing program at YSN. These responsibilities may include directing the YSN Adult-Older Adult Program, depending on experience and qualifications.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver innovative and engaging curriculum for adult/older adult specialty students.
  • Provide clinical instruction and supervision to students in various healthcare settings.
  • Contribute to advancing Adult/Older Adult Specialty nursing knowledge through research and scholarly activities.
  • Participate in administrative duties such as curriculum development, student advising, and committee work.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the overall quality of the adult/older adult specialty program.
  • Engage in community outreach and professional development activities to promote adult/older adult nursing.

Qualifications

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • A terminal degree (Ph.D., DNP, or equivalent) in Nursing or a related field.
  • Certification in an adult/older adult specialty area is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in a nursing or adult/older adult specialty program is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical practice in adult/older adult nursing.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and clinical practice.
  • A record of scholarly achievement, including publications and presentations in relevant areas.
  • Eligibility for licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of CT.
