Position Overview:
Dana Sterlig, IL is seeking a hands-on, safety-focused, individual to fill the position of Maintenance Manager. This individual will be responsible for the overall facility maintenance, systems, planning and executing capital and maintenance projects while supporting corporate initiatives. The Maintenance Manager will develop the maintenance business strategy/plan and oversee preventive and planned maintenance completion in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, direct, and monitor activities of maintenance personnel and contract labor, maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and processes to achieve maximum efficiencies with minimal downtime.
• Identify root causes of equipment failure, develop corrective action plans, assign personnel to respond, and follow up to ensure project completion.
• Working knowledge and application of OSHA and safe operating practices, including but not limited to machine guarding, lockout/tag-out, personal protective equipment, safe maintenance practices, and contractor safety.
• Lead Capital acquisition products from inception and business case development through design, procurement, assembly and release to production.
• Establish a System for Measuring, Analyzing and Improving Key Equipment Uptime in a way that reduces maintenance burden and improves plant productivity.
o Measure MTTF (Mean Time To Fail) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
o Excel at Troubleshooting and developing Troubleshooting Skills within the Maintenance Organization
o Lead Disciplined Problem-Solving efforts to improve both
• Become an expert in the DOS Maintenance initiatives and work collaboratively with Manufacturing Operations to effectively implement.
• Maintains maintenance management system (EMAINT) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
• Establish a disciplined PM system for Critical Equipment.
• Establish Priorities with Operations Leadership and a process for communicating those to all maintenance employees.
• Analyze current spare parts spending and develop initiatives that reduce those costs.
Qualification/Competencies/Position Requirements:
• SAP, CAD, PLC controls and programming experience. Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Must have proven experience in a manufacturing and/or assembly environment to apply new technology or alternate processes with the manufacturing environment.
• Must have corrective action and problem-solving experience utilizing tools such as 8D, 5Why or similar
• Working knowledge or Ergonomics in production.
• Understanding of mechanical power transmission utilizing gears, bearings, shafts, brakes, lubrication, and seals.
• Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and compliance.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering from accredited university preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
