THE JOB:
As the Race & Sports Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the Race & Sports Books at both New York-New York and Park MGM. In this leadership role, you are responsible for all aspects of the department, ensuring a seamless operation that prioritizes exceptional guest service, compliance, and team performance. You’ll foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, ongoing feedback, recognition, and employee development. You’ll also ensure all team members uphold high service standards and handle conflict resolution effectively, while maintaining full compliance with department and property policies, procedures, and regulations.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Manages departmental training programs, and ensures Race & Sports employees maintain compliance with all required certifications and trainings including policies and procedures, Title 31, Regulation 22, and new game procedures
Act as a Liaison between the legal Department and any outside agencies seeing player information in a lawful manner
Communicates any needs or concerns with the Shift Managers, Directors and Company Race & Sports book operations
Conducts routine needs assessments and identifies areas to refine training and development of departments employees, to provide feedback and counseling as needed regarding work performance, attendance and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as well as government regulations
Partners with other departments like Human Resources, Accounting, Surveillance and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures are being met and followed consistently
Manages the scheduling of Race & Sports personnel and ensures the schedules are based on business need
Interviews, auditions, evaluates, and facilitates the hiring process in the most efficient and effective manner
Coordinates with Marketing and Advertising departments on all departmental activities and related communication with management of the social media
Effectively communicates with all Race & Sports employees through daily update meetings, departmental meetings, postings and other forms of communication to ensure the team is well informed of department, property and company information
Develops implements and maintains guest database records as they relate to tournament entries, tournament winnings, cash game play, and ensures these databases accurately reflect guest play
Assists with research, development, evaluation and implementation of new technology and processes to ensure the company maintains a competitive position within the industry
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
2+ years of prior relevant experience in Race & Sports
