A Little About Us

Yahoo’s Global Network Infrastructure team is responsible for the core Network Infrastructure and shared services required to support all Yahoo services globally, such as our popular Yahoo Front Page, Sports, News, Finance and Weather media channels, advertising engines, video, search, and blogs.

Yahoo's Global Network team is looking for a highly technical Senior Principal Full Stack Developer on the network automation team to drive programmability and the innovation of our global network and expanding cloud footprint. You will be a critical part of the team to bridge the gap and bring awareness between the network and application stack to increase network intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering and architecture to assess critical challenges and identify opportunities to define future automated solutions for workflow optimization inside the Global Network team

• Serve as a technical lead on several large scale network automation platforms that support both our data centers / edge POP / cloud footprint globally

• Mentor and train team members on design techniques, and coding standards to help them grow their careers

A Lot About You

• BS in Computer Science or related professional experience

• 10+ years programming/software engineering experience in any combination of Perl, Python, Golang, C/C++

• Experience as a technical lead in developing & debugging software and monitoring large scale distributed platforms

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems

• Experience with software design and deploying to any of the public cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP, etc)

• Experience with cloud infrastructure provisioning frameworks such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation

• Experience with CI/CD deployment methodology and other common DevOps tools (i.e. Jenkins, Docker, Git)

• Experience with NoSQL/RDBMS, Message bus and similar big data technologies (Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka)

• Data analytics, modeling, pipelines, representation, UI and API experience

• Working knowledge and experience of Agile software development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Chef/Ansible

• Experience with containerization

• Experience with TCP/IP & WAN/LAN concepts

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,965.00 - $349,885.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
