Job Description
Summary/objective
Sportsclub Greenville is seeking a year-round Jr. Assistant Tennis Coach. This position is perfect for someone who loves tennis, working with kids and helping others. Our clinics have been growing quickly and have an opportunity for a tennis fanatic to join our team, assisting our coaches with our 12 & Under programs (beginner tennis players, aged 4-14). Not every class needs an Jr. Assistant Tennis Coach currently, but at our current rate of growth, they will very soon.
Clinic schedule:
Tuesdays & Thursdays
3:15 - 4:00pm Red ball (ages 4-8)
4:00 - 5:00pm Orange ball (ages 9-12)
5:00 - 6:00pm Green ball (ages 12+)
Saturdays
9:15 - 10:00am Red ball (ages 4-8)
10:00 - 11:00am Orange ball (ages 9-12)
11:00 - 12:00pm Green ball (ages 12+)
Pay: $11/hr
Essential functions

- Provide competent tennis instruction for all groups and levels of players
- Supervise and interact with children to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activities
- Assist with junior development 12 and under tennis
- Assist the Director with all club events, tournaments and USTA matches
- Assist with tennis instruction for summer camp and junior programming
- General administrative assistance as required
Physical demands
- Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
- Must be able to physically respond in a quick manner in the event of an emergency
- Must be able to fully participate in all indoor and outdoor activities
- Must be able to work professionally and calmly in an environment which may have heightened noise and stress
- Must be able to work in warm, humid, rainy or windy outdoor conditions
- Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Requirements
Required competencies, education, and experience
- Prior experience teaching tennis lessons or youth programming highly desired

- Park in team member designated areas
- Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
- Secure appropriate shift coverage if requesting time off for work
- Be a reliable team member who is consistently working scheduled hours, including arriving on time for shift
- Assist with Service Days
- Willingness to assist with Sportsclub programs, special events, or activities outside your department
- When supervisor or team members calls or emails, promptly return contact
