The Wellness Ambassador is responsible for promoting a holistic approach to health and wellbeing within the Club community. This role includes developing, coordinating, and leading wellness programming—incorporating disciplines such as yoga, meditation, pilates, reiki, holistic therapies, and nutritional education. The Ambassador acts as a liaison between the members, service providers, and wellness initiatives, ensuring a serene, motivating, and personalized wellness experience that reflects Discovery standards.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
Wellness Programming & Class Coordination
- Design and implement a comprehensive wellness program tailored to the needs and interests of members.
- Maintain and update a dynamic calendar of wellness activities including yoga, meditation, pilates, sound healing, breathwork, and other therapies.
- Coordinate and supervise contract wellness practitioners and holistic therapists.
- Teach sessions and classes as needed across modalities (e.g., yoga, meditation, pilates).
- Ensure wellness offerings align with Discovery's luxury standards and contribute to the unique "vibe" of Zapotal.
- Any other activity or responsibility assign related to the position and the goal of Zapotal.
Member Experience & Service
- Provide personalized wellness consultations and guide members in selecting wellness services.
- Maintain positive, empathetic, and professional relationships with members and guests.
- Proactively resolve member concerns or wellness-related inquiries with tact and efficiency.
- Embody and communicate the spirit and values of the Discovery brand at all times.
Vendor and Practitioner Coordination
- Ensure all wellness instructors and therapists hold current certifications in their discipline.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to contract instructors and staff regarding performance.
- Organize training for wellness team members on equipment, safety, and guest experience standards.
- Ensure wellness spaces are properly prepared, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Wellness Culture & Operations
- Collaborate with Human Resources on staff wellness initiatives and programs.
- Participate in department and club-wide meetings to stay informed and integrated with overall operations.
- Monitor the wellness budget and take corrective actions as needed to meet financial goals.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, energy flow, and ambiance in wellness areas.
- Support preventive maintenance programs and safety inspections in the wellness department.
- Assist in developing wellness content, communications, and promotions.
- Fulfill additional duties across the Club as requested.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES, and/ or SKILLS
- 2–3 years of experience in a wellness, spa, or hospitality environment
- Certifications in one or more wellness modalities (yoga, pilates, meditation, reiki, holistic health coaching, etc.)
- Background in nutrition or natural health is a plus
- Experience managing or coordinating wellness schedules and providers
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Intermediate/Advance English and Spanish fluency (verbal and written)

REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Certification or diploma in a wellness-related discipline (yoga, pilates, holistic therapies, or similar)
- Additional education in nutrition, mindfulness, or hospitality preferred
HEALTH AND SAFETY NEEDS
- Ability to perform physical movement required in wellness sessions
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces (beach, trails, gardens)
