Job Description Summary

To assist our PSOM departments who often do not have the resources to keep up with the demand, the Office of Research Support Services (ORSS) at the Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) is currently seeking post-award professionals who can serve as dedicated post-award service providers within a shared services model. The Post-Award Specialist will work directly with departments in carrying out post-award activities, often working in multiple different departments at the same time. The position will report to the Associate Director of Research Administration Financial Compliance within the Office of Research Support Services. The Post-Award Specialist will provide post-award expertise by cultivating a deep comprehension of funder requirements and institutional policies, advising department administrators on internal processes, and working directly with departments on specific post-award tasks.

Successful candidates must thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, have the ability to adjust to changing priorities, and be able to deal with ambiguity - while also maintaining high attention to detail.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage post-award activities, including reviewing NOA’s and comparing to AIS, setup accounts, monitor and review sponsored project expenditures and fund projections. 
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance. 
  • Produce and distribute specialized research related financial reports for investigators. 
  • Conduct high level oversight of payroll on grants to ensure accuracy of salary distribution, effort reporting and other payrol
