About the role
AAC (Advanced Automation Corporation) is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Adobe Captivate Expert who will contribute to the creation and implementation of interactive video activities and practical experiences for the DLIFLC Foreign Area Officers (FAO) Language Program. Employment is part-time as an independent contractor (1099).
Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive video content for foreign language learning courseware using Adobe Captivate
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer and enhances the learning process
- Collaborate with our team of Instructional Designers, language Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), graphic designers, and software engineers to integrate video content into the overall language learning experience
- State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Evaluate the effectiveness of video content and make necessary adjustments to improve learning outcomes
- Test and troubleshoot video content to ensure optimal functionality and user experience
- Ensure all video content aligns with AAC's quality standards and brand guidelines
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods to include the ADDIE model
- Design and develop new learner activities and exercises including technical training methods into approved training concepts.
- Review overall content and implement revisions to ensure all courseware fits together in a clear and consistent manner
Requirements
- Proven experience in creating interactive video content using Adobe Captivate
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
- Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory
- Exceptional combination of critical thinking and detail orientation
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Collaboration across the SME teams and demonstration of an entrepreneurial spirit and creativity
- Ability to find opportunities, take initiative and think through future implications
- Forward thinking to identify potential issues and/or risks to be resolved or minimized
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) of Education (specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology)
- A minimum of five (3) years’ paid experience developing distributed learning content at novice through expert levels using interactive instructional multimedia
- Foreign language teaching or learning experience
