The adjunct instructor in this position will be responsible for coordinating the clinical phase of the program at an assigned clinical site. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in the clinical settings.
Duties1. Supervises students in the clinical environment with a range of 8-29 contact hours per week;
2. Orients new students to the clinical site and radiology department;
3. Demonstrate knowledge of program goals, clinical objectives, and clinical evaluation systems;
4. Provides students with appropriate and adequate clinical supervision, both direct and indirect in accordance with documented student competencies;
5. Provides students with appropriate and adequate clinical instruction;
6. Performs clinical progress, competency, and proficiency evaluations for each student assigned to their supervision in accordance with the clinical course outline for that semester;
7. Exhibits a positive professional attitude toward students and the teaching process;
8. Participates in continuing education as mandated by the ARRT to improve and maintain competence in evaluation and professional skills;
9. Meets regularly with appropriate program officials to communicate student progress, strengths, and weaknesses;
10. Assists in maintaining effective and well documented student clinical records in a timely manner;
11. Provides a positive role model for students of radiological science professions;
12. Maintains confidentiality in accordance with program policy;
13. May participate in designated applicants clinical visit process before admission into the program;
14. Participates in meetings and serves on committees consistent with the goals of the educational program.
1. Shall be credentialed and in good standing by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in category of radiography;
2. Shall demonstrate competency in instructional and evaluation procedures and techniques;
3. Shall document a minimum of 2 years full time professional experience as a diagnostic radiographer;
4. Shall have an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiography or document equivalent based on Diploma/Certificate and appropriate clinical experience.
