This position requires the applicant to have an active NMLS license or be in the process of attaining an NMLS license within 60 days of employment. This is also an in-person position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The licensed Loan Officer Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day, full cycle of reviewing loan applications and completing administrative task in support of the Team. This includes checking important loan details and requirements before submitting all documentation to the lender, cost estimates for borrowers, provide necessary information to the relevant parties, and redirect questions to the appropriate departments. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure the loan records are accurate and up to date and closed on or before the due date.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITES:
Runs and prints a MI quote (if applicable) to put in the file
Gathers all initial documentation from client
Requests loan disclosures once a contract is received
Submits loan to processor within 24 hours of receiving signed disclosures
Finishes the processing milestone in Encompass & sends all documentation to processing in an email, along with a brief intro to the file (things to be aware of etc.)
Makes sure we have all the basics in the file when turning it over to the Processor (Tax returns, ID’s, SS cards, 1099’s/W-2’s, Bank statements, Retirement accounts, Bankruptcy paperwork, pension awards letters, SS awards letters, DD214’s, all explanation letters for deposits, etc.)
Locks Loans (informs processor when loan is locked) so it can be re-disclose
Responds to customers’ general questions regarding policy and procedures in the absence of the Loan Officer
Has a weekly meeting with the processor to go over status on all files
Updates customers, real estate agents, and titles companies on the loan’s progress
Monitors the loan through close
Maintains Loan Officers’ databases of customer information
Assists Loan Officers with marketing campaigns through mail, email, and internet
Please note, certain tasks will be limited if Loan Officer Assistant is still in the process of attaining NMLS License.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have an active NMLS License or is in the process of attaining the NMLS license within 60 days of employment.
High School diploma or equivalency degree
3 years of prior mortgage lending experience - Required
Solid knowledge and understanding of conventional, government (FHA/VA), and Jumbo loan requirements
Solid knowledge and understanding of state and federal real estate lending regulations
Solid knowledge and understanding of customer service and intrapersonal best practices
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Encompass Loan Origination System.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment; the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to exercise good judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.
Excellent organization skills; ability to set priorities, multi-task and work under pressure to meet changing deadlines while maintaining quality of work.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This job is performed in an office setting and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer/terminal monitor), occasional walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers terminals, and copiers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting or remote office location during unforeseen circumstances such as pandemic or natural disaster. Activities include extended periods of sitting occasional fast paced events and extensive work at a computer monitor.
He/she must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
