About the role

Zillow is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager on our AI team to help drive the roadmap of advanced AI core tech and product experiences. This role will directly report to the head of AI core science and engineering team, will be responsible for coordinating with the corresponding engineering, product, and design teams, meanwhile help foster collaboration between AI and other engineering teams.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the AI Team, you will:

  • Help define the technical roadmap, leading multiple AI programs from concept to production.

  • Coordinate with product team and define science fused product roadmap.

  • Represent the AI Science and Engineering teams and help foster broad collaboration for improving team’s visibility and business impact.

  • Drive the transition from early-stage exploration or novel experiences into scalable prototypes with clearly defined achievements for launch.

  • Ensure the success of new AI tech accurately shipped to CoPilot products.

  • Engage with design partners to provide mentorship and identify emerging opportunities to convert design ideas into product experiences our customers love.

  • Establish evaluation frameworks for measuring the impact of AI models and iterate based on findings; additionally, partner with data scientists to scale experimentation, automate feedback loops, and optimize models for performance and efficiency.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $145,500.00 - $232,500.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with solid knowledge of groundbreaking LLM, multimodal, voice agent.

  • Strong product sense, especially in bringing to bear AI to transform the user experience.

  • Passion and strong desire to apply brand new AI technologies to existing products or build innovative feature sets for end users.

  • Experience working with engineering and AI teams for developing dialogue systems capable of longer, natural conversations, multi-step reasoning, context-rich decision-making.

  • Experience deploying and scaling AI products and services capable of handling hundreds of millions of daily interactions with high availability, low latency, and robust fault tolerance.

  • Strong communication needed to align various teams and inform leadership about business impact, tradeoffs, and new technologies. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical teams.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from inception to completion, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time. Experience in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders while maintaining alignment with business goals.

  • Good at writing, and comfortable with drafting proposals, requirements etc.
