What You’ll Do
The Financial Operations Manager oversees financial operations within SimpliSafe, ensuring efficient and effective processes are in place to support financial management and reporting. This role will lead a series of finance transformation initiatives to optimize operational efficiencies in finance and provide enhanced financial data reporting. This role will work with internal stakeholders and external experts to develop and implement best-in-class financial processes, focusing initially on billing and collections, inventory, accounts payable, and cash application. This role will work collaboratively with the Finance Analytics team to develop and prepare reports on financial performance and track and report on KPIs that will help drive improvement and provide key stakeholders with appropriate levels of visibility.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement best practices for financial operations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Serve as a Finance operations expert with other departments, bridging the gaps between business goals and Finance requirements.
- Analyze financial performance data to identify opportunities to improve/streamline business operations in Finance.
- Work to understand opportunities to connect and integrate data from systems to reduce time spent on non-value add manual data aggregation work for the Finance function.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting structures to meet the needs of stakeholders.
- Oversee data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Continuously monitor processes to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Work cross-functionally with customer experience, financial systems, and other departments within SimpliSafe on financial operations optimization projects, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and shared professional growth
- Develop and implement improvements to internal controls in key financial processes, including order to cash, to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits as needed
- Assist with special projects as needed by the Finance team
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of relevant financial operations experience, preferably in a high-growth subscription business
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g. NetSuite, Zuora) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of financial processes and controls.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to operational excellence and accuracy in financial processes such as billing and payments
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented problem solver, with tenacity and no ego that thrives in a fast-paced environment
