Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) Hardware Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to join the VMS team located in the St. Louis, MO region.

As a VMS hardware engineer you work with an experienced team to develop flight control and subsystem control hardware architectures and requirements. You will develop supplier specifications and work with suppliers to develop and deliver sensors and electronic equipment. You will prepare integration tests and support lab and vehicle testing. You will get to see tangible results of your efforts as you contribute to any number of exciting aircraft development programs in St. Louis.

Position Responsibilities:
Develops and documents moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
Designs hardware, software and interface specifications.
Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
Assists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
Solves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
1+ year of experience in an engineering role (or a Master’s degree)
Experience with hardware development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active U.S. Security Clearance
Hardware in the Loop Simulator (HILS) experience
Flight control electronics experience
Embedded systems experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
