What?
We are seeking hands-on Senior Member of Technical Staff Engineers that share our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale using cloud native best practices. You will have part in the disruption of the health care industry and will help deliver better patient care.
As a SMTS engineer in our team, you’ll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Responsibilities
- Recognize and consider dependencies in planning and decision making
- Apply industry best practices for user software development
- Conduct performance tuning to ensure code is scalable and meets performance requirements
- Create and provide input to code specification development
- Identify process improvements and system enhancements and recommend solutions
- Trouble-shoot complex problems or issues through in-depth analysis of variable data sets and factors
People Management Responsibilities (for associates with one or more direct reports):
- Seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution.
- Delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks. Identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed.
- Lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and team. Create a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability and recognize accomplishments.
- Provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability and connect opportunities for your associates' development.
- Identify the right talent to achieve the desired results. Promote and build a diverse and cohesive team to accomplish objectives and align associates' skills to fill gaps.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 5 years work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education, including:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong background in Java (or similar OO language) and microservice architecture
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience driving feature design reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process.
- Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
