Sr. Systems Administrator

KBR is looking to add another Sr. System Administrator to join our team full-time in Patuxent River, MD. In this role, you will provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support across IT systems.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 am - 4 pm

As the Sr. System Admin, you will...

• Provide support for escalating and communicating status to appropriate team members.
• Provides support for hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
• Configures and manages Linux and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components, and implements operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Maintains, installs, upgrades, and configures data systems, administers operating systems and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups.
• Handle computer hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices.
• Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed field and industry best practices knowledge.
• Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes.
• May guide less experienced team members.

Minimum Required Skills, Experience, & Education

• US Citizenship required
• Clearance Requirement: ***Active Secret Clearance + SSBI***
• Certifications: CompTIA Security + & Windows Certification
• Education: BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics. ALLOWABLE EDU SUBSTITUTION: Equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant professional experience

Desired, But Not Required

• Additional Certifications that are a huge plus: Linux® certification,  Red Hat Certified System Administrator, CompTIA Linux+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Clearance: TS or TS/SCI and SSBI  

Contract Requirements will prevail.
