The Psychiatric Services Program Manager is responsible for successful day-to-day clinical operations and delivery of quality services across in-person and virtual care settings. The Psychiatric Services Manager assesses practice and develops training plans to develop clinical staff competencies and skills. The Psychiatric Services Manager works with site managers, clinical and admin leadership to manage scope of work being performed by medical assistants, RNs and other clinical staff support positions. The Psychiatric Services Manager works with leadership to support implementation of quality improvement initiatives and improve patient experience and outcomes, care coordination, and access to services through both onsite and telehealth platforms. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday and is a traveling position to all clinical sites along with providing virtual site to site support.

Essential Job Functions

Essential Functions of the Job: [Other duties may be assigned.] 

 

  • Works with leadership to develop program policies, procedures, workflows, and training to support department functioning, tailoring to site needs. 

  • Identifies training needs and develops training plans for the department.  

  • Works with managers on staffing and coverage to promote access to care, provide effective service delivery, and negotiate balanced coverage for all programs. 

  • Works with Quality and care teams on implementing quality improvement efforts, performance and quality assurance protocols. Trains staff on such protocols and policies. 

  • Supports patient access initiatives and population health management efforts.  

  • Supports departments in maintaining compliance with policies and procedures. 

  • Works with Integration Director and Clinical Directors to ensure accurate and timely documentation, data entry and validation, and reporting for grants, State, and tracking of program outcomes. 

  • Supports implementation of grant-funded projects and reporting. 

  • Assists in preparing for audits and chart reviews in accordance with organizational protocols. 

  • Ensures that care coordination activities, including specialty care and social services, are implemented efficiently and in a timely manner, and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.  

  • Build relationships with care teams and administrative teams to support integrated service delivery across the organization. 

  • Works with the Integration Director to develop work plans to support departmental goals and objectives. 

  • Works with the administrative and clinical leadership teams in developing work plans to support departmental goals and objectives. 

  • Coordinates and approves purchase of supplies and equipment necessary for efficient program operations, within budget specifications and storage limitations. Works with Site Managers to prepare annual budgets. 

  • Participates in community groups regarding patient education, safety, emergency preparedness, disease prevention, etc. 

  • Ensures staff achieves proficiency in the EHR and follows defined protocols established by the organization.
